Photo of the Day/Note on the Dominion

So what are we looking at?  First off I am fairly certain this is the Illinois Central yards in Chicago.  The two incredible landmark buildings are the Wrigley Building (left) and the Tribune Tower.

Just a little note for everyone on the Sunday Dominion update, I am trying to get a few things done, so I have something to post on, the first part is small but made a large difference.  The other isn't huge but six out of eight of you will like it, that is if I can get it done.  Also Sunday like the rest of the week is going to be busy, so the update wont come till latter than usual.

Photo of the Day

It has been a while that I did a photo of the day and so here is one for everyone.

What we have is a New York Central SW1 doing a little switching work in Chicago on Illinois Centrals south water street freight terminal.  The date I have of the photo is 1943

Photo of the Day

Just pretend that this is a photo taken on my layout, cause I know I do, sigh!..... some day.  This is another Jack Delano photograph, he took this shot of I believe an NYC SW8 switching at the Water Street freight terminal, in Chicago 1943.

Photo of the Day

I want to introduce you to one of my favorite railroad photographers, Jack Delano.  Every time I look at at this photo I just stare in amazement, and am just in a daze.  Not all of his photos are this great but he has some really good ones, mostly of midwestern subjects.  My first Photo of the Day was also one of his and I can guarantee that I will shear more.
The photograph was taken inside of the Chicago & North Western roundhouse in December 1942 Chicago.
