Favorite Buildings - Helsinki Station

Helsinki Central Station
Helsinki Finland -1919-

I don't have very much info on this building but it is one of my all time favorite art deco buildings in the world.  The two pairs of granite statues are very striking and stylized and wouldn't mind one as my porch light on my home.  The clock tower is the other feature that I love on this building and yes more of that patina I love.

A few years ago I came across an incredible scale model of the Helsinki Station. If I recall, it was either O or HO.

I've been looking for it, but haven't been able to find it. If I come across it, I'll post the link here.

I find this building very interesting as well, as the large themes (tower on the edge, center section with curved roof, parking area at the front door) are similar to the station I plan to be the centerpiece of my layout. However, my building has a Spanish theme to it, common to other buildings found in California.

I'll post some mockups of it eventually on my blog, although I may not get to building it for at least a year.
