Again I got this photo from the LoC years ago so I don't have much data. I do know it is New York and it is near the Fulton Fish Market. I found this one when I was researching the area for a possible part of my fictional city of Hudson.

Gorgeous photo. I love the large cable supports for the first floor overhangs.
I have a thing I do with old photos like this and I've found it really helps my modeling.
I use Photoshop (or other photo editing software would do) to zoom up on the photos and circle details like interesting signs, drain pipes, etc that you sort of scan past otherwise. It's surprising how many details you can pick out doing it this way.
Then when I go to model a structure, I refer to the photos I've circle and try to incorporate at least a few in each structure. It really adds a level of realize in the details you normally overlook.
Thats a really good idea! Many of the photos that I have saved, I sometimes forget why I saved it or I forget about things that I wanted to try out. I will start doing that now.
